Shutout South Muskoka 6:0

Nearly every coach in the game of hockey will tell you that defence wins championships. The Almaguin Spartans had a statement 6:0 victory over the South Muskoka Shield this past weekend.

The surging Spartans now boast a 13-5-0 record on the season tied for first place in the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League's North Division.

Standing tall between the pipes was Dominik Gerza who was the game's first star with a 40 save performance.

Adam Morton was the Spartan's best skater on the ice with 4 points from the blue line. His counterpart and leading scorer Mathew Labrosse found the score sheet with 4 of his own tallies on the evening.

Goal scorers included: Morton 2, Labrosse 2, Circenis, Hannaford.

Next up is a huge home and home series against the rival West Nipissing Lynx with the first game on November 10th in West Nip.
