Former NCAA D1/USHL Defenceman Signs

The Niagara Whalers have signed former NCAA D1 Merrimack College defenceman Ethan Spaxman to a contract for the 2017-2018 season. Spaxman spent parts of three seasons in the USHL before making a NCAA D1 commitment to Merrimack College in 2015.

Spaxman comes to the GMHL with one of the most accomplished playing resumes in league history.

At 6'4", 195lbs the Guelph, Ontario native defenceman is expected to one of the top players in the league.

Ethan was ranked for the NHL 2015 Entry Draft as high as #181 by NHL Central Scouting.

In 86 career USHL games, Spaxman posted a respectable 33 points. He went on to play in 48 NCAA D1 games for Merrimack.

Ethan was teammates with current Whalers Zach Main and Pat Desjardins in minor hockey as the trio now reunites in Niagara.
