Statement from the Niagara Whalers Regarding Former Recruiter

NIAGARA, July 5, 2018 – The Niagara Whalers would like to make the public aware and clarify information regarding former recruiter Brian Fish.  The Niagara Whalers have had no affiliation with Mr. Fish since his dismissal in September of 2017.

At the time of this individual's arrest by the Canada Border Services Agency on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 while attempting to gain re-entry into Canada, the Whalers had no affiliation or relationship to Brian Fish.

Mr. Fish was charged with three separate counts of:

  1. Break and enter;
  2. Threat to cause death; and
  3. Threat to destroy real or personal property.

Brian Fish was brought to the attention of the Niagara Regional Police Service in September of 2017 following a series of troubling incidents. He was immediately dismissed from the organization, and has not had affiliation to our organization since.

Mr. Fish has been released from custody on strict conditions not to directly or indirectly contact Niagara Whalers employees or players through text, email, written notes or contact through another person. 

The Niagara Regional Police Service and Niagara Whalers have advised any employees or players who come in contact with this individual to immediately contact the police.

The Whalers organization apologize for any inconvenience this individual has caused the community of Niagara.
