Two Whalers Sign Pro in Sweden

A pair of Russell Cup Winning Niagara Whalers have signed professional contracts in Sweden. Brandon Cercone and Blake Luscombe have signed with the Soderhamn/Ljusne Hockey Club. The pro team competes in Sweden's second division.

Cerecone played for the Whalers in the 2016-17 season. The local defenceman posted 35 points in 25 games, helping the Whalers win the league's championship. This is Brandon's first pro contract.

Blake Luscombe has re-signed for a second season with the same Soderhamn club. Blake signed Pro last off-season and is returning for year two. His 28 points in 25 games in his first professional season earned him the opportunity to return.

Best of luck to both Whalers on their upcoming seasons.
