CIT OverView

A program to prepare individuals for the leadership and responsibility of being a counselor with WHC

Available Positions:

• On-Ice Junior Trainer (2 Positions)
• Dryland Junior Trainer (2 Positions)
• Camp-Only Counselor (4 Positions)
Note: Each Youth & Senior camps have these availabilities

• August 10 - August 23, 2014

 

Program Details:

The CIT program is a two week residential session that prepares candidates to work effectively with children in a camp community. During the session, candidates receive training in areas such as leadership, mentoring, counseling and activity instruction.

Under the direction of two Staff Development Coordinators, the program is also designed to develop the interpersonal and professional skills of each participant. Other skills that are formed include; self esteem, self-confidence, communication, organization and goal setting.

The Benefits:

Experience and training! The CIT program is the first stepping stone for a teen looking to enter a camp counseling position.

Join the WHC Team! When hiring camp counselors in future, we will prioritize those whom have completed our CIT Leadership training program and we know can complete the job.

Transferable skill set! The training from the CIT program can be used on your resume, when applying for jobs in the future. This also provides a reference for your resume.

Work in Hockey! WHC is Canada's premier summer hockey training camp with an international reputation and 20 NHL Alumni.

 Registration Details:

• Applicants must be aged 15+. First Aid/CPR is an asset.

• Note: This is a training program for potential future paid positions

• Program cost = $1,500 including tax.

• All interested candidates are required to complete and submit an online application form. Forms will be reviewed and selected candidates will be invited to meet for an interview (phone interviews also possible)
